Description

Cornerstone was selected by Alaska Airlines, as part of its Alaska Facilities Reinvestment program, for a major renovation of their 12,500 SF terminal in Kodiak. While maintaining operations, the team is completing phased demolition, systems upgrades, and reconfiguration of interior spaces to include: ticketing, TSA passenger and baggage screening, restrooms, tenant spaces, the lobby, hold rooms, and other support areas. Exterior improvements include damaged siding replacement, new durable exterior paint finish in airline colors, new ADA compliant ramp and entry stairs, new energy efficient doors and windows, and new overhead doors in the cargo area. Temporary facilities have been created throughout the terminal to preserve the passenger experience during construction.

Most recently, the team completed trenching through the airfield for new services, the structural elements of the project were approved, interior wall finishes are underway, and new men’s and women’s restrooms were turned over for use. This complex renovation in a functioning airport terminal is scheduled for completion in May 2017.
