Cornerstone Takes Home Two Big Wins at the AGC 2020 Virtual Conference

November 25, 2020

Cornerstone took home two large awards at the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Alaska 2020 Virtual Conference by receiving the Excellence in Safety award and the Excellence in Construction Meeting a Challenge of Job Over $15 Million for the Medline Warehouse project.

Cornerstone has consistently displayed safety excellence and was also recognized by several organizations this year by receiving the ninth consecutive Alaska Governor’s Safety Award of Excellence and was AGC of America’s 1st Place in Safety Excellence for the second consecutive year.

Over the years, Cornerstone has set the bar in vertical construction for Alaska general contractors, and Medline is no different. Cornerstone guided local design and contracting partners to build the new $28 million, 150,000 SF Medline Warehouse in South Anchorage. It features 32 loading bays, two mezzanines, administration offices, and custom racking. Despite challenges from 2019 Alaskan wildfires and the 2020 Pandemic, Cornerstone completed this project ahead of schedule and under budget. Cornerstone worked with community partners to remove more than 63,000 CY of peat from the site. The result is substantial capacity increase for supplies for the local medical community.
