Boney Courthouse Phase 3 Underway
June 16, 2014
After two successful phases of renovation work on all floors of the Boney Courthouse in downtown Anchorage, Cornerstone has entered into a third phase of this complex project.
In the former law library, all interior demolition has been completed and new construction preparations have begun. Steel for the library mezzanine has been installed, with radius stairs and ornamental glass handle rail to follow. Most noticeable is the team’s work on the new lobby extension on the 4th Avenue side of the building.
Site work has been challenging with the discovery of old utility lines, including an abandoned bank of six 0-4” conduits encased in concrete running through the main part of the excavation. Recently, the crew doweled into the existing foundation wall (seen in photo) in preparation for the placement of concrete pilasters for the new lobby.
