April 21, 2020

Cornerstone General Contractors (Cornerstone) is proud to announce the firm has taken First Place in the 2020 Willis Towers Watson Construction Safety Excellence Awards at the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) National Convention for the second consecutive year. Cornerstone is the first firm in the nation to have won the top prize in this competition two years in a row.

The Willis Towers Watson Construction Safety Excellence Awards program recognizes construction firms that lead the industry in safety performance and management. Award recipients demonstrate a commitment to safety, occupational health management and risk control, with outstanding performance recognized across seven different divisions in 21 categories. Cornerstone won first place in the Building Division with 100,000 to 250,000 completed man hours, competing with contractors across the country.

Over the years, Cornerstone has developed one of the most robust safety programs in the industry. The firm has been a strong participant in the Alaska OSHA CHASE program for over five years and became a CHASE GOLD partner in 2018. Throughout this process, Cornerstone has developed its safety program to not just meet, but exceed, all regulatory requirements, becoming both mentor and coach to subcontractors and other General Contractors in the industry.

Cornerstone has a clear and demonstrated commitment to safety, demonstrated not only by the awards on their walls, but in the culture and attitude of their team on every project.
