Description
Cornerstone completed construction and installation services for two VMT Communications Buildings: the Valdez Communications Building (VCB) and the Commercial Carrier Building (CCB).
The work included providing temporary power, lighting, and heat as necessary to support construction; construction of the VCB, CCB, and related concrete foundations; installation of subsurface ground ring(s) and connection to new foundations; structural steel erection; installation of insulated walls and roof panels; installation of VCB’s awning; installation of the electrical distribution, battery backup, equipment cabinets, and fire alarm systems; installation of building grounding systems connected to the overall site grounding system; installation of mechanical systems; placement of concrete floors; and internal wall construction, floor system, doors, trim, and painting.
Cornerstone coordinated all work with Alyeska and other contractors to successfully complete the project on time and on budget while meeting the strict quality, safety, and environmental protection requirements of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System.
