Description

Cornerstone worked with Stantec on the New Homer Police & Public Safety Building completed in Summer of 2020. This Design-Build project brings years of planning and voting to replace the existing 1980’s era building to fruition. Cornerstone continued its long-standing relationship with the City of Homer and worked diligently to meet Police Department requirements in service to the Homer community.

Substantial expansion of the community population required the Homer Police Department to add one lieutenant, two patrol sergeants, an investigation sergeant, seven patrol officers, seven dispatchers, and three full time corrections officers, requiring significantly more and modernized space than the former facility could provide. The new 15,000 SF, 2-story building includes a police station with offices, interview rooms, holding cells, dispatch center, training and fitness rooms, evidence storage, crime lab, and visitation rooms. Green infrastructure measures were also implemented as part of the site development.
